Protest The Hero are keeping busy. They're currently out with Periphery and Jeff Loomis on a pretty killer tour. Recently, frontman Roddy Walker was interviewed on their European tour and asked about when fans could expect new music. His answer was surprising, and great. Here is what he said:
"I think we're going to have a new release ready, hopefully, for the first quarter of 2013. It's becoming more and more important, in this day and age, to really get music out there quickly, and that's not something we've ever really been good at or comfortable doing. Because I think when you do something too quickly, you don't put the time and effort into it. We've had at least three years between every album, and this will be the first where it's just about two years. It'll be interesting to see how it comes out. I think a lot of bands at this point are farting out records. I don't know, some of the bands that I very much love have just kind of crapped on my hopes by not just taking the time to put out a quality record."
You got to love that commitment to the "art" of making music, and I commend them for taking their time and wanting to put something of quality out. Here is the full interview:
