PARA ROACH's JACOBY SHADDIX On Rock's Resurgence: "It's A Good Time To Be In Rock And Roll"

"I almost feel like it's like the early 2000s in a way, just 'cause it's, like, the guitars are pumped way back up."

In a recent chat with LA Lloyd, Papa Roach's frontman Jacoby Shaddix shared his enthusiasm for the ongoing resurgence of rock music. Reflecting on the current state of the genre, Shaddix emphasized the vitality of bands like Disturbed and his own group in keeping the rock spirit alive.

"We've done our best through the years," Shaddix remarked, "and it's just dope 'cause at this point now we're seeing this resurgence happen in rock music, and it's exciting. I almost feel like it's like the early 2000s in a way, just 'cause it's, like, the guitars are pumped way back up."

Shaddix also highlighted the success of Disturbed, noting how their shows are consistently filled to capacity. He further mentioned rising acts like Beartooth, Bring Me The Horizon, and Bad Omens, expressing his excitement about the influx of inspired younger bands.

I was chatting with Dave Draiman [Disturbed singer] the other day and talking about their tour, and it's just, like, they're packed to the rafters every night. There's a lot of younger bands — BeartoothBring Me The Horizon, and a lot of very inspired younger bands — Bad Omens — coming up. And I think the future of rock is exciting — rock and punk rock music. It's just bubbling, man. And so, it's a good time to be in rock and roll."
