New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that starting April 1, outdoor venues with 2,500 person and over capacity can begin holding live concerts at 20% capacity. According to Rochester First, Cuomo added that capacities will improve as rates go down.

"I think you’re going to see the capacity increase and the testing requirements decrease as we get more evidence, but we want to start safe and smart," said Cuomo.

"I’m very excited about the news today. It has been a long dark winter. It’s been a long dark year, it’s been the darkest experience we’ve gone through in generations. Lets be honest, you’d have to go back to World War II to have an experience of this magnitude, and this death, and its been difficult in a lot of levels."

Cuomo recently announced that large stadiums and arenas in the New York area can reopen starting February 23. New York state has had at least 1,767,547 cases and 48,773 deaths throughout the pandemic, according to the New York Times.
