Motley Crue signed what they dubbed a Cessation of Touring agreement in 2014 and played their final show on December 31, 2015. The Cessation of Touring agreement stated the only possibly way for Motley Crue to tour again is if all four members agreed to the tour, which bassist Nikki Sixx told Rolling Stone at the time "will never happen."
Motley Crue reconvened as friends to make their biographical film The Dirt in 2018, which they say sparked discussions about getting back together and overriding the agreement, which of course came to fruition last week.
At the time of the Cessation of Touring agreement, guitarist Mick Mars told That Metal Show the breakup was pretty final. Mars then added about ever getting back together "Let me put it this way: If that happens, I will invite the world to come for free."
So Motley Crue better be prepared to lose a ton of money on this coming trek, because we're all going for the low price of absolutely nothing! Where do we redeem our free tickets?!
Wow! This is amazing ! What a fun episode this was with @mrmickmars @MotleyCrue … but I totally forgot he said this.. until a caller reminded me today. well here’s one tour that won’t be expensive I guess #FreeTicketsToTheWorld thx to @ThatMetalShow ! https://t.co/HbjfKBDhjH
