It's no secret Exodus have been writing a new album given all the drama about it with Slayer borrowing guitarist Gary Holt and speculation flying about him joining the band. In fact, new Exodus is so heavy that in the interview Holt and Kirk Hammett of Metallica fame give Nikki Blakk of Metal Zone I'll be heavily referencing below, Holt says the new stuff is so heavy "people are gonna poop themselves."
His words, not mine.
Anyway, during the course of the interview Blakk mentions that Hammett should make an appearance on the next Exodus record, to which Hammett gets pretty excited and exclaims that it's "a great idea." So I guess we'll see how far that conversation goes, but wouldn't that be pretty cool? Especially considering Kirk Hammett is one of the founding members of Exodus and briefly played in the band along with Holt back in the early 80's. This also begs the question of, since Hammett and the rest of Metallica are currently writing a new record, if Hammett gets together with Holt will he be influenced by Holt (and vice versa)? Could be cool regardless! I'm hoping they trade off solos since they're such excellent players.
