Megadeth vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine recently revealed he's doing very well with his cancer treatment, and that he's gotten from well-wishes from people like James Hetfield and Ozzy Osbourne. Megadeth will return to the stage on January 20 with Five Finger Death Punch in Europe. but before that we're going to hear some new music.

Mustaine told Rolling Stone that Megadeth will attempt to release at least two new songs before they hit the road in January. Which will likely have blasting, if we're still basing our opinions off the teaser videos.

"All we need to do is get in the studio and capture them. We've got scratch drum tracks. We just have to get Dirk [Verbeuren, drums] to play through the songs once or twice and then it's up to me and David [Ellefson, bass] and Kiko [Loureiro, lead guitar] to finish."

Mustaine also revealed the new album will have a ballad sung entirely by Ellefson. Mustaine cites Kiss as the inspiration for the song, and said he urged Ellefson to write a song about his feelings toward Mustaine.

"I said to him, 'What was the biggest song that KISS ever had?' He goes, 'Beth'. I said, 'Yeah, we should write a song like 'Beth', where it's a ballad and it’s just you singing it. I think you should write a song about what it's like being in Megadeth with me, because I read all your lyrics, and I know that your lyrics are aimed at me. You're upset. So why don't you write about it?'"
