To be fair, the rumor does seem like horseshit.

2018 might actually be the year we get the long-awaited follow-up to Tool's 2006 album 10,000 Days. Danny Carey recently said he'd like to have it out by May if he could, and guitarist Adam Jones says the music is done and "lyrics are coming in hard." As usual, bassist Justin Chancellor hasn't been asked or hasn't commented, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan is playing his cards close to his chest.

There was recently rumor floating around Reddit posted by user RepresentativeSilver regarding the new album, which talks about song titles and says the band is further along than they're letting on. The post was deleted, though someone took a screenshot and you can read it below.

Maynard James Keenan Calls Latest TOOL Rumor "Horseshit," Won't Comment On New Album

Maynard James Keenan calls the rumor "horseshit," and as usual refuses to comment specifically on the album. Keenan also has a wicked sense of humor, so who the hell knows what to make of the last comment. Also to be fair, he did say new A Perfect Circle in 2018 and never said anything about new Tool. So that comment is 100% accurate.
