We all got very excited at the end of last year when the social media accounts for Mayhem Fest shared a photo of Rocky with the caption "don't call it a comeback." Rumors were going crazy the first part of this year as to what the lineup would be.
One rumor that got heavy circulation was that Megadeth and Lamb of God would be headlining the festival. That turned out to be false, as those bands were doing their own touring – but Mayhem vowed to have a lineup.
Naturally, because of the ongoing pandemic, Mayhem Fest will not be happening this year. That's the bad news. But the good news is that the fest organizers are planning a return for next year.
"As we’re sure you’ve guessed.. due to the pandemic we have to sit this summer out, but 2021 we plan on being back in full swing" the caption for the photo wrote.
And, while no artists were officially announced for the festival this year, I can tell you based on some inside whispers that they were really trying to put together something unique that no other summer festival was doing. Hopefully it all works out next year.
What would your ideal lineup be? We'll keep you posted with any further official announcements.
