MASTODON Confirm The Most Obvious Guest Ever For Their Upcoming Record

I know you know this.

I know you know this.

We've been reporting a lot on the upcoming Mastodon release (possibly releases), and for good reason! New Mastodon is exciting business! Today, we can confirm what is probably the most obvious piece of news about the record. Ready?

Scott Kelly from Neurosis is going to do guest vocals on a track on Mastodon's new album. This obvious fact was confirmed by Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher in a recent interview with Soundwave TV:

“We just got a track back from Scott Kelly from Neurosis, he always sings on a song. And it sounds tough as nails, really exciting, I can’t wait for it to reach the masses…”

Of course, Kelly has recorded a guest spot on every Mastodon album since Leviathan. In the same interview guitarist Bill Kelliher also announces that former The Mars Volta keyboardist Ikey Owens will be on the record. He never mentions Valient Thorr‘s Valient Himself who was creeping in the band's studios not too long ago, so perhaps Valient was just visiting? We'll know soon enough.

Once Mastodon is done with their Australian shows, North America can catch the band on tour with Gojira and Kvelertak this spring!
