MARDUK Parts Ways With Bass Player After Nazi Salute Video Surfaces

The video is from four days ago.

Marduk-03

Swedish black metal outfit Marduk has parted ways with bassist Joel Lindholm after a video showing the musician performing a Nazi salute on stage surfaced. In a status posted to Facebook earlier today, the band wrote:

"Following a variety of intolerable stage antics by a very drunk Joel at Incineration Fest last week, he has vacated his position in the band. Our old friend and bass player Devo has agreed to step in on a temporary basis, so this is unlikely to affect any of upcoming shows."

The video, which was posted four days ago, shows Marduk playing at Incineration Fest at the Underworld in Camden, UK. As MetalSucks points out, around the 45-minute mark, you can see Lindholm wind up and perform what appears to be a Nazi salute.

Marduk has brushed against Nazi allegations before, like when a 2017 show was canceled or in 2018 when members were accused of purchasing Nazi propaganda, which they denied.
