A Liquid Tension Experiment reunion seems to have been in the works for a while now. Keyboardist Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater) mentioned earlier this year the band had begun working on reunion plans, while guitarist John Petrucci (Dream Theater) said in 2019 that he'd be down for a reunion. Now all four members, including drummer Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, ex-Dream Theater) and bassist Tony Levin (ex-King Crimson, ex-Peter Gabriel, ex-Steven Wilson), are clearly teasing a new album from the project.
All four members posted a picture of themselves on each of their personal fan pages, each with a mask forming LTE3. No further information is available on when we can expect the third Liquid Tension Experiment record, but I'm already excited for it! It'll be the band's first new album since Liquid Tension Experiment 2 in 1999, and first with Rudess as a member of Dream Theater and Portnoy as an ex-member.
