It's been a whirlwind of a week for Linkin Park fans. It all started when a 100-hour countdown ended on Wednesday, August 28 at 2:15PM EST. The clock hit zero, there was a big glitch that signified something was coming, and then all of a sudden the countdown started counting up. Predictably, fans were pissed.
However! Some fans noticed that upon the countdown going up, there was a new glitch on 00:09:05, which everyone assumed might be a clue that there was news coming on September 5. Those people were correct – Linkin Park has now confirmed there is indeed news coming on September 5, with their website being updated and a new social media post confirming everyone's suspicion.
So what's coming on September 5? Who knows. The running guess is there's new music and shows up for 2025. As reported previously, frontman Mike Shinoda posted a message on his website on August 12 stating that he's got "so many exciting things planned for you."
There was also that Billboard report in April that Linkin Park was hearing reunion offers for 2025 with a female singer. "Booking agency WME is taking offers for a potential Linkin Park tour along with headlining festival dates featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell, the sources say," according to the story.
