Linkin Park launched a mysterious countdown on their website on August 24, counting down until today, sparking rumors of a potential reunion tour, the flames stoked by a Billboard report earlier this year and Sum 41's Deryck Whibley saying he had an announcement on the same day (though he quickly denied it).
Well, the timer is up and we have… another timer! This time, it's counting up and we still have no idea what it could mean.
Linkin Park also posted a message on their Twitter, stating that "It's only a matter of time…" with a link to their website. It's anyone's guess when they'll make their announcement, but it seems possible that the timer will now count up to 100 hours.
As reported previously, frontman Mike Shinoda posted a message on his website on August 12 stating that he's got "so many exciting things planned for you." There was also that Billboard report in April that Linkin Park was hearing reunion offers for 2025 with a female singer. "Booking agency WME is taking offers for a potential Linkin Park tour along with headlining festival dates featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell, the sources say," according to the story.
