LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe Sees Himself Doing Music "Not Quite So Aggressive" In The Future

Lamb Of God will never break up, though.

Lamb Of God will never break up, though.

It's an interesting time in metal because a lot of the old guard, even in extreme music, are getting older. Naturally as people age, their tastes in music change a little and maybe doing extreme metal isn't going to be in the cards anymore. That definitely seems to be the case for Lamb Of God vocalist Randall Blythe, who says he doesn't see himself doing heavy music for the rest of his life in an interview with Revolver Magazine, via Metal Hammer.

“I’m not going to be doing this when I’m fucking 60 – no fucking way. We’re not the Stones. I’m always going to be doing music, but not something quite so aggressive, I’m sure.”

I mean, yeah. At 60 years old it's totally understandable that Blythe either doesn't think he's going to want to do it or he doesn't think he'll be able to do it. Whatever the case, he says Lamb of God will never call it quits on the spot.

“I don’t think Lamb Of God ever has to break up,” he says. “I think we can, like, gracefully move out to pasture.”

I know it was a point of contention, but I liked Blythe's clean vocals. Dude's got a good voice and if we can hear more of that, that would be pretty cool. Of course, Blythe said a few weeks ago, he'd be open to doing more clean vocals in the future and everybody misinterpreted that as him saying Lamb of God will only have clean vocals.
