LAMB OF GOD Frontman Randy Blythe Released From Czech Prison On Bail

Today is the big day! After not just one, but two denials of bail by the prosecution, Randy Blythe was released today. After a 16 hour court session behind closed doors, the Prague Municipal Court decided to grant Blythe bail, after Blythe's attorneys had to fork over approximately $400,000.

Blythe was detained in a Czech prison for over a month on allegations that he pushed a fan at a 2010 show in Prague, and the fan suffered injuries from that push that eventually led to his death. Any footage released from the show does not show the incident.

According to Blesk.cz, Blythe boarded a direct flight to New York at approximately 1:00 p.m. CEST (Central European Summer Time, approximately 6am Eastern Standard Time) today. He is expected to land on U.S. this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Prague Municipal Court had this to say:

"The decision was reached yesterday at the end of a closed session,"Martina Lhotáková, spokeswoman for Prague's Municipal Court, said. "The only condition of release was the approximately 8 million Czech Koruna bail [which has already been paid]," she added.

Blythe is not in the clear yet. The trial is still pending and he has guaranteed that he would attend. Fleeing is not an option for Blythe, who, as a public figure would be quite easy to track down ultimately. There is still a long road ahead for the Lamb of God frontman, but at least he has his freedom back, for the time being. Surely, the first thing Blythe wants to do is see his wife, have a smoke and have a nice cup of coffee.

UPDATE: Shortly after this news was released, Lamb of God's publicist released an official statement saying the band will be playing Knotfest, and is planning on rescheduling their tour with Dethklok and Gojira for October. Read all the info here.
