Looks like Slipknot may continue after all. At the Revolver Golden Gods Awards a few months ago, we had the chance to speak to Joey Jordison who was promoting Murderdolls' upcoming release. During the interview he mentioned that other project he works and how they are scheduled to be back in 2012. A few months after, Slipknot founding bassist Paul Grey died of an overdose, and there were questions as to whether Slipknot would even continue.
A few weeks ago guitarist Jim Gray, while promoting Stone Sour in Europe, said it was too early to even begin talking about new Slipknot as the band is still in mourning. I guess it's not too early for Joey. While talking to Juliya backstage at Mayhem Festvial, he said the Slipknot machine will roll on in 2012:
Juliya: You mentioned at the Golden Gods that there would be new Slipknot in 2010. Is that still an option…
Joey: Absolutely. I just want to thank all the fans for the support about the loss. But there will be another record for sure.
I would take this information with a grain of salt, because it's just one member of eight saying this. This of course raises new questions. Who will play bass on the album? Will they tour again? I guess we'll find out in due time.
