JAMES HETFIELD Names The Two Songs He Wants METALLICA To Play More Live

And they're both from 1988.

Metallica-40-27

Do you wish Metallica would play more cuts from …And Justice For All? Metallica frontman James Hetfield certainly does.

During a recent Q&A portion of The Metallica Report, Hetfield revealed that Metallica actually talks about playing both "The Frayed Ends Of Sanity" and "Dyers Eve" quite a bit, but never gets around to 'em.

"'The Frayed Ends of Sanity,' most of the time, or 'Dyers Eve.' Those are the two," said Hetfield. "We have played them in the past, and they've come up here and there. I think it's just more of a… I don't know, a talent check with each other? Like, can you play this song?"

For those wondering, "The Frayed Ends Of Sanity" has been played live 12 times – 11 in 2015 and once in 2014 – and "Dyers Eve" a total of 35 times, the most recent being a sole performance in 2010. Though according to Setlist.fm, …And Justice For All is Metallica's fifth most played record live. Mostly thanks to nearly 1,600 performances of "One", 840 of "Harvester Of Sorrow", and 535 of "Blackened", but still – it's not like the record gets ignored.

Hetfield was also asked if there are any Metallica songs they'll never play live, to which Hetfield gave a pretty hopeful response: "I would love to have played every song besides playing it in the studio. Yeah, I hope there's a point and a place for every song before we're done."
