Current Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones have been in the studio for a good chunk of 2023 working on a new project. Jones revealed in a new Instagram post that the currently-unnamed band has 10 songs recorded and 13 total demos, with plans to "finish asap." So stay tuned! Jones also mentioned that he's writing for a second Sion album, which is his other project with YouTuber Jared Dines.

As for when we might hear the new project, Dutkiewicz said in an interview with Louder that it's not exactly coming soon.

"I've got so much on my plate right now," he said. "It's really hard to schedule anything particularly, like 'it's gonna come out at this point,' 'it's gonna come out at this point,' but we're just almost at a situation where we can maybe release a single. But I think the entire record's gonna take a little bit longer than expected. Because now I have to do double duty and record [new Killswitch Engage] at the same time. So I'll be doing that."

Killswitch Engage parted ways with vocalist Howard Jones in 2012, but over the years have improved their relationship. Jones has been joining Killswitch Engage on stage here and there to play some of his old material, and even had him in the studio for guest spot on their 2019 album Atonement.

The new project will be the first time Jones and Dutkiewicz have been in a band together since Killswitch Engage's 2009 self-titled album.
