Jizmak Da Gusha showed up to the Robert E. Lee statue yesterday, June 12, and proclaimed "GWAR is here!" This is the result of the ongoing petition to replace the statue of the Confederate general with late GWAR frontman Oderus Urungus.
When we originally shared the story of the petition, it had less than 100 signatures. As of right now, the petition has over 36,000 signatures, prompting a visit to the monument by Jizmak.

Jizmak surveys the scene, notices all the graffiti and responds "what great artwork." After yelling "GWAR is here," a citizen asks "hey, I think you're the one going on top aren't you?" to whick Jizmak declares "There is a petition to put GWAR on that horse instead of Robert E. Lee. I strongly encourage that everyone sign that petition online." Jizmak concludes "Fuck that guy!"

It should be noted that Virginia governor Ralph Northam has said he plans to order the statue be taken down, but he has not commented on the petition, so far.
