The time has come – a Gwar record will happen without the might Oderus Urungus behind the microphone. Instead, you'll be treated to the howls and growls of Mike Bishop, or Blothar, who has been fronting the group since 2014. It's good to know that things are in the hands of Bishop though, considering the dude knows Gwar's brand pretty well.
For those unaware, he was bassist Beefcake the Mighty between 1987 and 1993, and then again from 1998 to 1999. According to a press release, the band is "currently searching for a producer that is brave enough to risk their life to give them the tones of the gods to make this next record stand as a testament to the next era of Gwar" and that the band has been secretly "grinding out what may prove to be their most savage and bloodthirsty tracks to date" in Chicago.
At the very least, this should be an extremely interesting record and you're damn right we'll be covering it every single step of the way. Maybe we'll get to hear some new stuff at Gwar-B-Q?
Here's a weird video about it!
