EXODUS Guitarist Gary Holt's Test Has Come Back Positive for Coronavirus

If you've been following the news, it should come as no surprise that Exodus guitarist Gary Holt's coronavirus test results have come back and he has said he tested positive. Exodus completed a tour of Europe with Testament and Death Angel earlier this month, and multiple people came back from the tour feeling sick, including Testament frontman Chuck Billy and bassist Steve Di Giorgio. Death Angel drummer George Carroll is still in the ICU of the hospital. But in positive news, Holt looks to be recovering.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Holt announced that his test finally came back positive, but that the sickness has since past through him:

“So I finally received my test results back and positive it was. Lisa’s came back negative, and it’s been long enough since my symptoms that I am officially in the clear to do the only things I’m allowed, like buy my own groceries! I feel great, made it through the tougher moments, and my health feels 100 percent normal. Thanks to everyone who had wished us well. Now it’s time to start working on some new Exodus riffs while I’m still basically stuck in my house!”

Because of the scarcity of tests in the United States, most people cannot get tested for the virus. The protocol is to only test people who are experiencing extreme symptoms, which Holt was experiencing. He felt the worst two weeks ago, and finally his conditions got bad enough that he got tested and then had to wait five to seven days for the results, by which point he said he recovered.

Testament's Chuck Billy has said that bassist Steve Di Giorgio is being unable to even get tested, even though he is showing symptoms. Doctors are advising he quarantine and fight through it.

We encourage our readers, if you are not required to go out and work, to just stay home and let's ride this thing out.
