ENFOLD DARKNESS Asking Fans To Fund Small Portion Of Recording Cost For Their First Album In Five Years

I am so friggin' stoked.

I am so friggin' stoked.

Enfold Darkness released their debut full-length Our Cursed Rapture in 2009, dropped a pre-production track called "Lairs of the Ascended Masters" (below) in 2012 via Sumerian, got dropped from Sumerian in 2013, and released another demo track called "Banishment" (also below) in 2013 all while going through approximately 500,000 band member changes. It seemed like all the talk about a new record would never come to fruition… but now things are happening in a big way!

The band recently started up an IndieGoGo campaign asking for a mere $1,500 for the new record, which is not a typo. They're not asking to be fully funded for the new record, but for the drum recording and some equipment upgrades for their recording rig. Since fans aren't really funding the new record there's not much in the way of a "you get the new record" perk, but a variety of other stuff like posters and pre-production tracks. Oh, did I mention they're recording with the legendary Jaime King (Between the Buried and Me)? Because they are and that is a huge deal! The band had this to say about the campaign.

"After three years of writing, we are finally ready to record our sopomore studio effort. The recording process starts in two weeks when we make our way to North Carolina to track drums with the legendary Jamie King.

We are asking for contributions from our fans to help make this record a reality. The funds received will go toward covering the cost of drum recording and upgrades to our recording rig."

New Enfold Darkness makes me really, really excited, so get out there and donate! I've been waiting for this record for five damn years.
