SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor Calls Rock Hall of Fame "A Pile of Garbage," Would Turn Down Induction

When this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced, there was a pronounced backlash from rock fans for Iron Maiden once again being snubbed from being nominated into the Hall. Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor is among those in disagreement with the decision.

In fact, he's no fan of the Rock Hall in general, even going as far to say that he would probably turn down an induction.

Taylor told Lazer 103.3 that he would likely decline the induction, saying “First of all, I don’t care about that Hall, ’cause I think it’s a pile of garbage. They don’t honor anything except pop music, really, and they only really induct real rock bands when they have to cave to pressure. They disrespected so many bands over the past by putting others in before the ones that actually deserve it, that I would probably go the way of the Sex Pistols."

He continued "I’d be, like, ‘Your Hall is a sham. I don’t care if I’m a part of it or not. You have no idea what the spirit of rock and roll is actually about. So take this and shove it up your you-know-what.’ So, that’s basically where I’m at. And, obviously, I’m not getting any brownie points, and I probably will never be nominated, but I don’t really care.”

The wild thing is Slipknot is only a few years away from being eligible. Artists can be nominated 25 years after their debut release. So we'll see if Taylor is all talk , or if the Hall even acknowledges Slipknot.

The 2021 inductees include Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Jay-Z, Carole King, Todd Rundgren and Tina Turner.

Slipknot is currently working on new material.
