Former MEGADETH Drummer Nick Menza Says Dave Mustaine Blew Him Off At NAMM

Can't we all just get along?

Can't we all just get along?

The NAMM (National Assosiation of Music Merchants) Show is an annual showcase of new gear from top music instrument manufacturers and a place to see tons of pony tails and musicians doing signings. Our friends at Gear Gods have been posting some killer coverage of all the metal goings on at the event.

One of the big signings was with Dave Mustaine of Megadeth at the Dean booth. Apparently, former drummer Nick Menza was around the Dean booth and noticed the Mustaine signing and thought he would stop by and say hi. Things didn't work out so well for the former Megadeth drummer. Menza posted this recounting on his Facebook page:

I had a blast at NAMM hanging with fans and old friends I also made a major mistake for trying to saying hello to Dave Mustaine at the Dean booth witch [sic] he totally blew me off and wouldn’t even look at me then had his hired goons / bodyguard tell me go away, pretty lame! I’m over it and life goes on!!!

Mega thanks to all the fans who stopped by to show there support, you guys are awesome!!!

I'm assuming no pun was intended with the mega thanks. In the comments of the post, Menza clarified he was just trying to say hi:

Thanks for all the kinds words guys. I don’t hate Dave nor was i trying to get back in the band, just a friendly hello hey how’s it going, you know just normal things people do that’s all nothing more, nothing less! i have so many other things going on in my life right now that even if Dave asked me back in the band i would have turned down the offer.

Mustaine, who is a born again Christian, constantly talks about forgiveness, so it's interesting to see that not be the case in his interaction with Menza over the weekend. Of course, there are two sides to every story.

Menza played on some of the most seminal 'deth albums, including Rust In Peace, Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia.
