Devin Townsend has made it very clear previously that he has no interest in resurrecting Strapping Young Lad, like that time when he interviewed himself.
He decided to have a little fun in South America recently and "cover" an SYL tune, ""Love?," and of course there is video of it:
Naturally, this has led to online questioning of Devy asking if this means we can expect more SYL material in his sets, which led to Devy regretting his decision. He tweeted:
“So just wanted to say: yeah, I played Love in South America and it was a mistake. I didn’t think it through as I had said I wouldn’t again. I figured it had not been played there before so I’d do it as a ‘cover tune’. But it just confuses people. It won’t be played again. Thanks for the support – signed: ‘work in frikkin progress’ again, my mistake fully.”
Way to go everybody! Now we'll never ever hear SYL tunes live, even in cover form.
