One day after Lamb of God announced they would canceling the remainder of their European tour, guitarist Schmier of German thrash band Destruction allegedly slammed an "overrated American band" for canceling the remainder of their tour over security concerns.
Schimer added "A nice way the let fear win over freedom."
It seems like Schimer has since removed these statements, since they were originally reported on Blabbermouth. Somebody in the comments insinuated that the band's label had to do with the cancelation to which Schimer responded "I don t think so. Labels have NOTHING to do with concerts!"
Lamb of God have made it clear that they canceled to keep the band, its crew and fans safe and I really feel this post was in bad taste from Schimer. Lamb of God are clearly already dealing with the fallout from their issues in the Czech Republic a few years ago and decided against touring. I can't blame them at all, and they were not the only ones. Five Finger Death Punch, Foo Fighters and Motorhead are other bands who canceled their gigs.
Destruction's next gig is in Germany tomorrow.
