Devin Townsend never came off as the type of guy that's down for heavy music at all times. Just look at his output over the course of his career – the guy clearly has a pretty eclectic taste in music. So it's not really surprising that his "favorite song of all time" is one by Sitar master Ravi Shankar.
Townsend took to Twitter to turn fans on to Shankar's track "Prabhujee" from his 1997 album Chants Of India. The record was produced by The Beatles' George Harrison, who also recorded some of the sessions in his house. Check out the track below and get into Devin Townsend's coming album Empath by way of the debut single here.
People have asked me for years what my ‘favourite song of all times’ is. And it’s this. The lyrics are in the artwork of the hummer, I used it as an intro for syl and an outro for dtp. https://t.co/B3EJi9WjjD
