What the hell is Darkthrone up to? All we know so far is the extremely scant information provided in the below video. The video (animated by Matthew Vickerstaff and illustrated by Steve Larder) offers three bits of text – "In a forsest outside Oslo," "Caption of sin," and "Put your ear to the ground" – alongside some backwards music that sounds like there might be an acoustic guitar thrown in there somewhere?
The video also showcases a sign that says "Chaka Khan Studio," which is where Darkthrone recorded their 2021 record Eternal Hails. Maybe it's a live in-studio performance? Which would be insanely cool considering Darkthrone hasn't performed live since April 6, 1996 at the Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway.
So stay tuned! Because Darkthrone is definitely up to something.
