Cradle Of Filth vocalist Dani Filth and pop star Ed Sheeran have finally collaborated on something together. We don't know much about the collaboration yet aside from an Instagram post by Filth, saying "A little over a week ago I was having lunch with the unlikely lads, having just done something fun." So who knows – maybe Filth has gone pop, or maybe Sheeran is continuing down the path of getting heavier.
In an interview with Consequence from February, Filth said he was looking into some options to collaborate with Sheeran. "Ed's expressed a desire to be part of a song, and we're currently looking at some options, and that's about as far as it's got," said Filth. "He did invite me up to his house — he doesn't live very far from me, probably 18 to 20 miles from where I live."
"The thing that interests me, if we would undertake [the collaboration], the juxtaposition between what we do and what he does. I think it's a bit of a challenge to undertake."
Prior to that, Filth said in a 2021 interview with Kerrang! that he and Sheeran were emailing back and forth. "I've actually been e-mailing with him… He actually touched base with me," said Filth. "I've been invited up to his place. Well, he said he could come down to mine, but I pointed out to him that I don't own my own bar or village, and it'd be better if I went there.
"He said he'd do anything. Quite literally. He said he's a massive fan. He seems like a genuinely very nice guy actually."
