CHRIS CORNELL Statue Officially Unveiled In Seattle; Local News Report Available

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell will be eternally remembered not only in the minds of fans around the world, but also via a great-looking statue in his hometown of Seattle. Cornell's wife Vicky Cornell and the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) worked in collaboration to create the statue, which was unveiled this Sunday, October 7. The statue is outside MoPOP's entrance on Fifth Street and was sculpted by artist Nick Marras.

The unveiling also included a screening of Soundgarden's full 2013 performance at The Wiltern. The statue was originally scheduled to be unveiled on August 29, but was moved to October 7 to better accommodate the growing number of people that wished to attend the ceremony.
