NACHTMYSTIUM Have Broken Up; Frontman Blake Judd Announces New Project

This is kind of a bummer, although not surprising. Nachtmystium have announced that the band is in an extended hiatus, which for all intents and purposes basically means the band has broken up.

The band released the following statement:

“We are sorry to inform you that NACHTMYSTIUM have decided to cancel all their live activities in the foreseeable future. The band has parted ways with their long time lead guitarist, Andrew Markuszewski, and their recording engineer/synth player, Sanford Parker. The remaining three bandmembers of NACHTMYSTIUM as of today are going to bring the band to a state of hiatus.”

In a recent interview with Stereogum, frontman Blake Judd said that his main priority is a new project, Hate Meditation.

Overall, this might be for the best. I've heard plenty of stories of Nachtmystium shows going wrong, so perhaps Blake needs a fresh start.

Hate Meditation have released a pretty evil sounding song, so I am looking forward to more from the band:
