A little over a month ago, we pointed to plenty of evidence that would suggest guitarist Jason Hook was out of Five Finger Death Punch. Now, Hook himself, has confirmed the news… sort of.
Hook, who is currently on his honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, took some time to address fans on social media and reveal that he is, in fact, no longer in the band, but can't really talk about it.
“I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the fans of Five Finger Death Punch for all of messages that you’ve been sending me about you know what." Hook stated. "I’ve kinda been issued a gag order, so I’m not saying anything. But I’m very excited about the things I’m working on and I’m looking forward to sharing them with everybody.
“And when the time is right there will be a mutually agreed on press release between me and my guys and that’s it.”
Hook noted that he's not done creating music, “I’ve got tons of new songs that I’m gonna release and I want people to hear them. I don’t expect to make money, I don’t expect to climb the top of charts. I didn’t care about any of that… the music business is sort of in the toilet, so it’s not really about that anymore. It’s just about getting off on it and getting fired up and creating something that’s exciting for me and hopefully translates to be exciting for you.”
In the video, Hook revealed he has "eight projects on the go and I'm excited about every one of them."
Hook has since deleted the video, but Rock Feed managed to snag a copy, which you can see here.
While Five Finger Death Punch have not confirmed any new members, Rock Feed points out that if you look at Spotify's Kickass Metal playlist, a new promo photo of FFDP is shown with famous British solo artist and shredder, Andy James.
Hook is the second notable member to depart Five Finger Death Punch after drummer Jeremy Spencer left the band last year, to briefly become a cop, and now has his own odd project named Psychosexual.
