Tony Campos has been around the block in metal. Dude used to be in Static-X and recently quit Soulfly, which means he's still in Ministry and now apparently Fear Factory! According to a statement from Campos, he'll be joining up with the group for the first time at Amnesia Rockfest in Canada.
"[Fear Factory] is the gig I wanted when Static-X was falling apart, and I'm really excited that I finally get to do it.
"My first show with them will be at Amnesia Rockfest [in Montebello, Quebec, Canada] on June 20th, the day after I play with Minstry at Amnesia Rockfest.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Max and Gloria Cavalera, and the whole Soulfly tribe for the incredible opportunity they gave me. It was a great three-plus years, and I enjoyed every minute of it. You have my eternal gratitude, love, and respect, and I hope we can work together again in the future."
Nice, but what the hell happened to Matt DeVries? We know DeVries played on the new record along with drummer Mike Heller but there hasn't been any word on him quitting the group that I've seen. So maybe he's in the process of quitting and Campos is hitting up the group in June after he's gone.
In the meantime, we're still looking forward to the new jams!
