Legendary death metal supergroup Bloodbath has signed with Napalm Records for the "next exciting chapter" of the band. Which of course we're all hoping means a follow-up to the 2018 record The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn. Or at least an EP, or a single… we just need the mighty, exhumed-from-the-grave riffs of Bloodbath back in our lives, really

"Just as we’re about to enter our next exciting chapter of Bloodbath, we’re pleased to say that the band is in the good hands of a new label," said the band. "By joining forces with the mighty Napalm Records, Bloodbath will proudly make sure our old school death metal continues to pummel onwards and upwards. Let the Napalm rain!”

"Bloodbath could be simply described as a super-group and the title would be 100% correct," added Sebastian Muench, Napalm Records A&R. "However the essence of Bloodbath lies in their endless talent to create death metal magic. Death metal as pure and wonderful as very few bands are capable of. Bloodbath, we are absolutely proud and honored to welcome you to the Napalm family!"

Bloodbath is currently vocalist Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost), guitarists Anders Nyström (Katatonia) and Tomas Åkvik (Lik), bassist Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), and drummer Martin Axenrot (ex-Opeth). It's probably worth mentioning that whatever Bloodbath does next will be the band's first since Axenrot quit Opeth. Whether that means Bloodbath will be a slightly more active band now remains to be seen, but here's hoping right?
