BEN WEINMAN On Unreleased THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Material: "There's Some Talks Of Cleaning It Up And Putting It Out"

Weinman remains mysterious.

The Dillinger Escape Plan 2024

The Dillinger Escape Plan recently reactivated with Dimitri Minakakis behind the microphone for a handful of Calculating Infinity anniversary shows. While there are no plans for new music or extensive touring, it does seem like there are plans for the release of some B-sides and bonus material!

According to The Dillinger Escape Plan mastermind Ben Weinman in an interview with Vulgar Display Of Podcast, there have been "some talks" of busting out some unreleased material laying around. It's not clear what or when that'll be, but hey – I'll take it.

"I do not want to tour with this band," said Weinman. "I've said it time and time again. These are events. I want these to be special events. I want Dillinger fans to be able to go somewhere together, maybe fly there, maybe drive there, maybe just talk about it, and hang out and spend time together doing something that's like-minded and important to them, and enjoy the whole experience.

"I don't want it to be like 'yeah, I'll go. They're coming around. I'll get them when I get them.' The point is to do – for us and for fans – to be able to do some of these limited kind of event-type things where this is a special thing. I really don't want to tour with it.

"There is no plans to do music or anything like that. It really is a celebration of Calculating Infinity and some of the earlier stuff we did before that. I am very satisfied with how we ended in 2017. I think we did it right. I was really proud of that and really left with no regrets… but there is some hidden unreleased stuff laying around in hard drive and there's some talks about maybe you know, cleaning it up a little bit and putting it out. But as far as really creating new music, that's not really on the agenda."
