AVENGED SEVENFOLD Skipped Last Night's Encore After SYNYSTER GATES Injured His Leg

They will not be cancelling any shows.

Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates suffered a leg injury during the band's show in Mansfield, MA on July 19.

The injury happened as Avenged Sevenfold was performing their 2016 track "The Stage", at which point Gates exited and left his bandmates to play the rest of the song. Avenged Sevenfold then stopped the show for 20 minutes to let everyone know what happened before playing the rest of their set. Unfortunately due to the pause, Avenged Sevenfold had to skip their encore of "G", "(O)rdinary" and "(D)eath" due to time constraints.

Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows later hopped on the band's Discord to let everyone know that Gates is doing alright and that the band won't cancel any of their shows.

"Hey guys – SG is back and seems like a pretty severe contusion of his calf," said Shadows. "He's got crutches and can't walk on it at the moment. Gonna be sore for a few days. Doc said it could be from dehydration, possibly last night's show, the heat and not enough water today. Bottom line is he's watching it closely and hopefully be able to stand on it soon."

Shadows only mentioned that Gates felt a "gunshot type of feeling in his calf" at the time of the injury. We wish Gates all the best and look forward to seeing Avenged Sevenfold continue their tour.
