ARCH ENEMY Taking A Break In 2012; More Room For CARCASS?

Arch Enemy had a pretty busy year in 2011 with the release of Khaos Legions and a world tour, things got busy for the band. But, according to vocalist Angela Gossow, 2012 will see a much lighter schedule for the band:

"We play a lot of shows and my workload as the manager and vocalist in Arch Enemy is immense," says the Arch Enemy vocalist. "I have to be strong and healthy for that — so I take good care of my body, I am a vegan, I work out a lot. I will also take a year or more off after we finish the touring cycle for Khaos Legions in 2012. I need some time to recharge my batteries. Arch Enemy will go on hiatus for a while."

So once they finish up their touring commitments, a break is abound. Does this mean that the Amott brothers have some time to work with Carcass? If you're holding out for a new album, don't hold your breathe. Shortly after interviewing guitarist Michael Amott in 2010, we spoke off-camera about the possibility of new music from Carcass, and he pretty much shot it down saying that he basically didn't know how to write a Carcass song anymore, as all his efforts and style has gone to forming Arch Enemy. Totally understandable! But that doesn't mean these guys can't go out on another tour so I can wig out one more time! One can only hope!
