They will be playing on the glass floor, 500 feet in the air.

The space needle is Seattle's most well-known landmark, so it makes sense that one of the states most well-known artists is scheduled to be the first artist to perform at "The Loupe," a brand new revolving glass floor instillation in the space needle.

The acoustic performance will be broadcast through SiriusXM on Friday, August 31 at 5 p.m. ET and PT through radios and its app and website.

According to the press release, "The Loupe" is powered by 12 motors and offers 360-degree views over the largest city in the Pacific Northwest. The Space Needle has been a defining landmark of Seattle’s skyline since 1962 and The Loupe is part of its recent $100 million renovation.

After the performance, the band heads to Safeco field for "Alice In Chains night" with the Seattle Mariners.

The band's new album, Rainier Fog comes out next Friday, August 24th. Hear some songs from the album here.
