It's a sludgy one.

The Progerians' coming record Crush The Wise Men Who Refuse To Submit is one that deals with such lighthearted topics as exploring one's own spirit and attempting to vanquish inner demons. The record will take listeners on a journey in full come May 24, but in the meantime I'm premiering their brand new song "Netjeret", which drummer Thomas says evolved quite a bit from its instrumental stages to the inclusion of lyrics.

"The original instrumental track focused on a forgotten, ancient Egyptian goddess. As we went along, the perspective changed, and the lyrics evolved in another direction, talking about finding your way in the modern jungle. ‘Netjeret’ is finally the result of both, at the crossing of meanings, where Egyptian dunes, temples and ritual processions mix with the image of a kid struggling with his identity… this is the kind of surreal mess we like to deal with."

Pre-order the record here, check out their back catalog under the names The Fabulous Progerians and The Mighty Progerians here, and follow the band on Facebook here.
