Have you ever wanted to hear Muse bring in some double bass drumming? Maybe employ some old Slipknot type riffing and a pitchshifter that wouldn't have been out of place on a Drowning Pool record? Then you're going to love their new single "Kill Or Be Killed," because it's got all that. And kudos to Muse for trying to expand their sound into something new – dudes have had a long career and it's always nice to see artists still trying to change things up.
"'Kill Or Be Killed' is Muse at their heaviest!" said Muse frontman Matt Bellamy. "We wanted to update our hard rock sound on this album and with 'Kill Or Be Killed' we found a modern metal sound featuring double bass drum action and even a death growl. Lyrically the song takes influence from my favourite Paul McCartney song 'Live And Let Die', a dark take on how life's adversity can sometimes bring out the worst human instincts to survival at any costs."
Muse will release their new record Will Of The People on August 26, which is available for pre-order here.
