MAJESTIES Channels Old School, Gothenburg-Styled Melodeath And It Rules

It's members of Obsequiae and Inexorum.

Majesties

Majesties is the new band featuring Obsequiae's Tanner Anderson alongside Inexorum's Carl Skildum and Matthew Kirkwold. The band is old-school Gothenburg-styled melodic death metal in the vein of In Flames and At The Gates, and they couldn't have done a better job with it if they tried.

Majesties is now streaming "The World Unseen" from their debut record Vast Reaches Unclaimed due out March 3. And if the main riff sounds like it's straight out of the '90s, that's because it actually is.

"'The World Unseen' provides a broad representation of the surreal lyrical themes of the record, and specifically depicts an out-of-the-body experience," said Skildum. "It tells the tale of a mind untethered to a physical form, flowing through the world free of physical constraints. There are some deep roots to this particular song, with the verse riff having been rescued from one of my riff tapes from 1997."

Vast Reaches Unclaimed is available for pre-order here.
