HIPPIE DEATH CULT Bring The Ecologically Driven Doom On 'Breeder's Curse'

Come to terms with the Holocene era as Hippie Death Cult guide you through six minutes of doomed oblivion!

hippie death cult

Hippie Death Cult are the latest band to come careening out of the storied Portland stoner metal scene. Coming up alongside groups like Witch Mountain and A//tar, this is a band who deliver riffs of the highest quality. What is striking about their upcoming record, 111, is that it perfectly fuses classic rock sounds with a more modern fuzzy doom sensibility. They also bring a tastefully executed political and ecological message. These concepts really come to a head on 'Breeder's Curse' the track we get to premier ahead of tomorrows release of 111.

The band had this to say:

"This album marks ground zero for the band. Like all of the tunes on this record, "Breeder's Curse" is a direct result of our initial experience collaborating with each other. Musically, this one displays more of our straight up driving fuzz/stoner side and features a pretty ferocious vocal performance to match. Lyrically, this one touches on the subject of our human ecological footprint and the overpopulation issues our planet is facing as the earth approaches the end of the Holocene Epoch."
