It doesn't take you long to hear the Jamey Jasta influence on Dee Snider's solo material. Dee unveiled his first new solo track, "Tomorrow's No Concern," from his new album, For The Love Of Metal, today and it kicks off with a bass line that would not seem out of place on any old-school hardcore album.
The track itself is both catchy and heavy, combining Sniders' penchant for melodies and Jasta's penchant for heavy riffage. Take a listen.

In a statemnent, Snider called "Tomorrow's No Concern" the perfect first single from the album. "Lyrically, it's about me living for today, not in the past. So many people waste their lives away remembering the 'glory days.' While I am proud of all that I've done, I'm more interested and excited about what is happening now. In the song, I urge the listener to do the same; live in the moment and don't let the past — good, bad or indifferent — or what might or might not happen in the future ever slow you down!"
Other guests on the album will be Howard Jones, guitarist Mark Morton of Lamb of God, Arch Enemy's Alissa White-Gluz and Joel Grind from Toxic Holocaust.
Snider explained in a recent interview with 90.3 WMSC-FM how the collaboration with Jasta came about: "I was doing Jamey Jasta's podcast, and he challenged me to make a contemporary rock record. And I was, like, 'Who's producing?' He said, 'I am.' And so we went in the studio [with] no record deal, and people started flocking [to appear on the LP]. It just amazed me, the enthusiasm and excitement that these younger musicians — younger than me, at least — had for working with Dee Snider and being a part of this project."
For The Love Of Metal is out on July 27 via Napalm Records.
