Sit your ass down, because Destroyer Of Light is here to blow you away with massive riffs for the next seven minutes. And when I say blow you away, I mean it like that one dude in the Maxell cassette tape advertisement from the '80s. Just a full-force blast of audio straight to the dome, leaving a clean streak of nothingness in its wake.
"'Darkshimmer' is based on a dream that I had. I was wading through waist-high water, in a city flooded by a hurricane," said Destroyer Of Light guitarist Keegan Kjeldsen. "It was pitch dark everywhere, but the sky had a strange, almost oily sheen to it, a sort of evil presence lurking behind the clouds.
"I took that for inspiration, but my thoughts in composing the song turned to the modern world and how accidents and disasters are often fueled by malevolence: by greed, or by self-centered recklessness. These were the type of ideas that drove a lot of the lyrics on the album."
Destroyer Of Light will release their new record Panic on November 11. Pre-orders are available here.
