Candlemass briefly worked with vocalist Mats Levén in 2006, recruited Robert Lowe for a while, and then reunited withLevén in 2015 for their EP Death Thy Lover. The band is still holding true to their claim that 2012's Psalms For The Dead is their final full-length album, but that doesn't apply to EP releases, clearly.
Candlemass has announced they'll bring forth a new EP called House Of Doom on May 25 and they've now unleashed the title track into the world. It's all the heavy metal doom you could ever want from Candlemass, though "doom" in that classic sense rather than the plodding stylings of say, Mournful Congregation. Founding bassist Leif Edling also tells Brooklyn Vegan that "2018 will be a big year for Candlemass," so here's hoping there's more new stuff on the way!
