I'm all about this recent trend of metal musicians being invited to perform the national anthem before sporting games. Metallica have been invited to perform the anthem during both the NHL Stanley Cup Finals AND the NBA Finals. Meanwhile, Anthrax's Joey Belladonna has been making the rounds, performing the anthem at a Minnesota Vikings football game and a Chicago Bulls game
Last night, January 3rd, it was Zakk Wylde's turn to shred the anthem in Chicago and he did an absolutely magnificent job, adding about 25 – 40 pinch-harmonic guitar squeals to the American classic.
