Homer Simpson as Freddie Mercury? Yep, it's happening. Seeing as though The Simpsons is now in its millionth season, they need to offer a few gimmicks to keep things fresh. And, it seems an episode this season will feature Homer Simpson portraying iconic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.
A screenshot has surfaced, which doesn't tell us much other than Homer will be in front of the Live-Aid crowd. Blabbermouth reported the episode was set to air this past Sunday, but it did not.
Queen guitarist Brian May did confirm the episode is coming writing "Aaay-O ! Doh ! Is this a ‘thing’ ? Apparently SO ! But I may have to wait a while."
He added "Well – dear folks in the USA – let me know how it goes !!! We don’t get Fox TV over here. ???? And, by the way, since some of you have asked, yes – ssssh…. some material HAS been officially licensed to the fabulous Simpsons."
We look forward to seeing how they pull this off.
Queen have tour dates scheduled all over the world in 2020, with Adam Lambert. Get tickets here.
