JUDAS PRIEST & RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Nominated For Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Class Of 2022

Plus Dolly Parton, Devo, Pat Benatar, and Beck.

Rock Hall 2022

Judas Priest and Rage Against The Machine have been nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Class of 2022. The full list of potential inductees this year is:

  • Beck
  • Pat Benatar
  • Kate Bush
  • Devo
  • Duran Duran
  • Eminem
  • Eurythmics
  • Judas Priest
  • Fela Kuti
  • MC5
  • New York Dolls
  • Dolly Parton
  • Rage Against The Machine
  • Lionel Richie
  • Carly Simon
  • A Tribe Called Quest
  • Dionne Warwick

Judas Priest was previously nominated in both 2018 and 2020 but didn't make induction. The same went for Rage Against The Machine in 2019.

The lineups up for nomination are obviously the four guys that have always been in Rage Against The Machine, as well as Judas Priest's current core lineup of Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Glenn Tipton, and Scott Travis alongside ex-members K.K. Downing, Les Binks and late drummer Dave Holland. It does feel a little weird not including Richie Faulkner, given he has writing credits on both Redeemer Of Souls and Firepower and has been in the band for over a decade.

"This year's ballot recognizes a diverse group of incredible artists, each who has had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture," said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation. "Their music not only moved generations but also influenced the sound of countless artists that followed."

The fan ballot featuring the same list as above is also available here.
