When was the last time a metal or hard rock act played the Super Bowl? I honestly can't remember. Do the Red Hot Chili Peppers count? Eh. Aerosmith? Eh.
It's odd because football probably appeals to mostly metalheads and yet the halftime show never reflects that. I guess they are going for a broader audience which is why Katy Perry is booked this year.
But the games leading up to the Super Bowl? Kind of metal, I guess. Alice In Chains have been announced as the performer for the half time show of this Sunday's NFC championship game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers.
Seeing as though the game is happening in Seattle's CenturyLink Field, who else then local heroes Alice In Chains to play the halftime show.
Alice In Chains absolutely deliver live and I'm curious to see what tracks they pull out for this one. As soon as video of the performance becomes available online, we'll be sure to post it on the main page.
