A Texas couple was arrested and charged with child endangerment after leaving their 11 year old kid home alone for two days so they could drive to Michigan to see industrial titans Godflesh.
Detroit Metro Times reports John Guerrero, 48, and Virginia Yearnd, 39, of Spring, Texas have been arrested on second-degree child endangerment charges for leaving their 11-year-old daughter home alone, without any supervision for a day and a half while they went on this heavy metal journey.
According to Chron: "In Texas, a parent – or anyone else who has custody or cares over a child under 15 – can be charged with child endangerment if he or she 'intentionally abandons the child in any place under circumstances that expose the child to an unreasonable risk of harm,' according to the Texas Penal Code.

Court documents show that authorities got into the home after a tip from the child's great aunt. They had tried for hours to contact the parents to no avail. Eventually, they reached Yearnd, who told authorities the couple was in Louisiana. The child was found trying to turn the stove on.
The child's mother Virginia told authorities that she asked her sister to check in on the child but the child said nobody came by.
If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison. They are being held without bond.
Perhaps the couple should've waited for Godflesh to announce a closer tour date.
